SPIRITUAL COMFORT

Sometimes we are in need of spiritual nourishment and encouragement. If you are looking for biblical help in this time of need, please look through the passages offered. (All verses taken from ESV)

When you are feeling over whelmed.

Always remember God is in control. When everything seems to be weighing you down, stop, quiet your mind and say a prayer.

When sorrow enters your life.

Jesus tells the disciples about the awaiting joy and peace for all that know Him as Christ. The Holy Spirit is with us always as our comforter if we will rely on God.

When you feel your relationship with man is inadequate and threatening.

King David knew his enemies were seeking to destroy him, but he knew God is greater than all and will provide counsel and protection.

When you feel tempted.

King David is well aware of his sins and looks to God to cleanse him and restore him to a right relationship with God.

When the worries and concerns of life over take you.

These verses give us direction as to how we should approach life and its situations. Be humble, be wise, be kind, not only to others, but to yourself.

When you are fearful.

God will protect and keep us as we pass through the various storms that are part of life.

When you are gloomy or melancholy.

Take refuge in God and He will give you peace and joy.

When God seems out of reach.

God knows us and everything about us, and even though we may feel lost and that God is not near us, He is there with us always.

When you feel disheartened.

God will renew you and bring you to a place of happiness if we listen to His word which is eternal and true.

When you feel all alone.

God is with us and watches over us always.

When you feel like you have hit bottom and cannot go on.

God’s mercy, love, and salvation will provide for the strength to overcome any earthly problems.

When you are faced with a daunting task.

Joshua took over the leadership from Mosses and relied on God for his strength to accomplish the task God laid out for him.

When things seem too big to deal with.

God’s power and glory are resources for those who dwell in His presence.

When you need rest.

When we give our souls over to Jesus we have someone to share our burdens with.

Love should be the foundation of all our relationships and interactions with others.

Do not seek wealth for the sake of wealth, but be good stewards of all things.

If you look to God, He will give you guidance and direction in all things.
